As the cold days of winter melt into the warm promise of early spring, it’s time to refresh your coffee routine. Hearty, creamy blends may have kept you cozy in colder months, but spring calls for something lighter, brighter, and full of flavor.

If you're looking to try something new at home, here are five DIY spring coffee recipes that blend warmth, florals, and refreshing fruitiness—all perfect for the season.

Chai Tea Coffee: Spiced Simplicity

This is the easiest recipe of the bunch, ideal for cooler spring mornings. A chai tea coffee offers a spicy kick with a soft, aromatic finish.

Ingredients:

  • Bagged or loose chai tea

  • Dark roast coffee

  • Optional: dash of cinnamon

Directions: Brew the chai tea, then use it as your base to make coffee using a French press or pour-over method. Add a dash of cinnamon to enhance the spice.

Lavender Latte: Floral and Comforting

Florals are in this spring—especially in coffee! The lavender latte is comforting, classy, and subtly sweet.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Tbsp lavender syrup (DIY or store-bought)

  • 1/2 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)

  • 1 cup dark roast coffee

  • Optional: dried lavender for garnish

Directions:  Brew your coffee and stir in the syrup. Froth and warm your milk, then gently pour it over the coffee. Sprinkle with dried lavender for a cafe-worthy finish.

Iced Grapefruit Americano: Citrus with a Kick

Refreshing and vibrant, this iced grapefruit americano gives your usual cold brew a sparkling twist.

  • 1 tsp grapefruit zest

  • Ice cubes

Directions:  Pour espresso into a glass, then add soda water, grapefruit juice, and zest. Top with ice and enjoy!
